The magnificent fountain located in Lyon France's central square (Place des Terreaux) was created by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi. The fountain is a popular spot for friends to meet and for tourist to gather. There are a number of good outdoor restaurants nearby. Bartholdi's best known sculpture was called "Liberty Enlightening the World". It is more commonly known as the "Statue of Liberty".
