he Archaeological Park of the Theater and Amphitheater, opened in 2003, is a state-owned institute for public use, created in order to protect, preserve and enhance the archaeological remains of the entertainment buildings of the ancient Roman center of Civitas Camunnorum. The Park offers an exceptional cross-section of the ancient city boasting the remains of an amphitheatre, brought to light entirely in the perimeter structures, and a theatre, today visible for a third of the total. The complex is completed by a series of structures and service areas, including a sacellum and small thermal baths. The position of the buildings is splendid, both from a landscape and functional point of view: leaning against the Barberino hill, theatre and amphitheatre lean against the natural slope. The Park covers about 20,000 square meters, with green areas with plants and tree species.
