Cheung Chau - The Island hideaway of the 18th Century pirate Cheung Po Tsai An idyllic getaway from the hustle and bustle of HK, Cheung Chua is a quaint and picturesque island just 10 KN SW of Hong Kong. It has beaches, short treks with some splendid views and great seafood at the local restaurants. Legend has it that it was the hideout for pirate Cheung Po Tsai who mounted raids from the island. To get there take the ferry from the Central Ferry Pier 5. The trip takes 30 mins by "Fast Ferry" and around 55-60 mins on the slower one.
