Description

Rossimoda della Calzatura Museum is one of the few Italian museums dedicated to footwear. It houses more than 1500 models, most of which testify to the company's collaboration with designers from all over the world, and works by contemporary artists such as Andy Warhol, Allen Jones and Anselmo Anselmi who illustrate shoe models. In an exhibition space of about 700 square meters, distributed on two floors in seventeenth-century halls, are preserved prototypes of the company's collaborations with international fashion houses, from Dior to Yves Saint Laurent, from Givenchy to Ungaro, Fendi, Christian Lacroix, Pucci, Calvin Klein, Porsche and others. On display are pieces that are representative of the company's history, the historical period and the social context or because they are remarkable from a technical and artisan point of view. On the ground floor is represented the minimalism of American designers such as Donna Karan, Marc by Marc Jacobs and Porsche, while on the upper floor are visible the products of Mediterranean designers such as Emilio Pucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Dior, Roger Vivier, Fendi, Lacroix, Celine and Kenzo, with more space given the longevity of their collaborations with the company. In addition to the footwear models, there are prints, sketches and sculptures from Luigino Rossi's private art collection: original sketches by Christian Lacroix and Karl Lagerfeld, reproductions of prints by Andy Warhol, sculptures by Allen Jones and Daniel Spoerri and cartes de vœux by Yves Saint Laurent.
