Description

Built in 1921 in French Baroque style, The Chicago Theatre features crystal chandeliers and bronze fixtures highlighting a grand staircase that leads to various gallery promenades on the floors above. The lobby itself is five stories tall. Here in this storied landmark, history combines with majesty and entertainment. The Chicago Theatre was the first large, lavish movie palace in America. It set a high bar for others to follow. When it first opened, a 50-piece orchestra performed in the pit while a movie played on the screen above.
