The beach of Megali Ammos is located on the west coast of the island, about 7 kilometres northwest of Patitiri. Its name that means Great Sand is rather contradictory, in fact it is not a very big beach and it is not sandy either: it looks like a small and enchanting bay of light-coloured pebbles, with a transparent sea of extraordinary shades, surrounded by a green Mediterranean bush, which contrasts with the turquoise sea and the blue sky. It is a beach much appreciated by those who love natural beauty and uncontaminated places. Thanks to the tranquillity that the beach of Megali Ammos manages to transmit, you will feel like being in a small paradise. The seabed does not slope gently, but already after a few meters it becomes quite deep, so it is ideal for a nice refreshing swim and snorkeling. The seabed is magnificent and has many wonders to explore.
