Ostrog Monastery is one of the most revered religious sites in all of the former Yugoslav states. It’s visited by up to a million tourists and pilgrims every year. It’s also revered and visited by Orthodox Christians, Roman Catholics and Muslims. From afar, Ostrog looks like it defies gravity. It’s built right into a sheer cliff face way above the plains below.
