It is built of limestone monolith. The history of this destination suggests that it was once a place of seclusion for the Stylites in the 4th century. Stylites were a religious group who had an obsession with sitting on top of narrow pillars to come closer to God. However, it is still not obvious how they got up on it and were able to build a church on top.

5.  Chiatura

It was built in the late 1800s as a mining colony. Later in 1954, a system of cable cars known as rope road was installed. The purpose of the cable car was to get the laborers more shortly to the mines, rather than them stepping into the areas on cliffs. This made Chiatura the cable car city.
