A Brienza si racconta che nel castello che domina il borgo, tra i tanti ospiti che qui hanno trovato accoglienza e animato le sue stanze e i suoi saloni , una in particolare abbia lasciato un segno indelebile. Un segno rimasto vivo tra le mura del castello che sussurrano storie di uomini valorosi e di dame bellissime. Su tutte risuona la storia dei Bianca da Brienza. In questo castello, verso la metà del 1300, pare, vi vivesse unadonna di nome Bianca, bella e lussuosa. Ella era solita dare delle feste alle quali prendeva parte vestita dai soli gioielli di cui era fiera; intratteneva i suoi ospiti danzando languidamente e tuffandosi in un mastello pieno di monete d'oro. Si narra che il suo tesoro fosse custodito in una stanza segreta del castello che possedeva 365 stanze, tanti quanti i giorni dell'anno. La stanza in cui il tesoro fosse nascosto è la 366, una stanza segreta. Tanto segrata che i soli a conoscerne il tragitto fossero Bianca e la sua fedele ancella. Ma il destino eveva in serbo per lei una percorso diverso dal lusso e dagli agi del castello di Brienza. Durante un viaggio verso Amantea fu catturata dai pirati e portata ad Algeri; qui un pascià se ne invaghì e la volle con sè. Da quel momento non si seppe più nulla di lei e del suo tesoro. Tutt'oggi la 366 stanza non è stata scoperta e, secondo la leggenda, chi troverà questa stanza diventerà ricco e padrone del tesoro.
