Anish Kapoor est connu pour ses sculptures élégantes aux géométries épurées et aux formes organiques, qu'il fabrique avec des prouesses d'ingénierie.Sky Mirror est une sculpture publique de l'artiste Anish Kapoor[1]. Commandée par le Nottingham Playhouse, elle est installée à l'extérieur du théâtre dans le Wellington Circus, à Nottingham, en Angleterre. Sky Mirror est un plat concave de 6 mètres de large en acier inoxydable poli, pesant 10 tonnes (9,8 tonnes longues) et incliné vers le ciel. Sa surface reflète l'environnement en constante évolution.
Six ans se sont écoulés entre l'idée initiale d'une nouvelle œuvre d'art public majeure et l'inauguration de Sky Mirror le 27 avril 2001, pour un coût de 900 000 £. À l'époque, il s'agissait de l'œuvre d'art civique la plus chère financée par la loterie nationale. Il a été fabriqué en Finlande.
