La chèvre de type Nereto est une spécialité agroalimentaire provenant des communes de Nereto, Torano Nuovo, Corropoli, Controguerra, Sant'Omero, Ancarano et Colonnella, toutes situées dans la province de Teramo. Le plat, à la viande rouge ambrée, est présenté avec une sauce tomate accompagnée de poivrons rouges frits. Il existe également une recette de "dinde à la nièce". Il faut compter 4 heures, y compris le (long) temps de cuisson.
Profitez-en au maximum en suivant la saisonnalité du poivre, qui, par coïncidence, de Pâques à septembre, est la période idéale pour les repas en plein air.
