Auf dem Place Voltaire in Ussel können Sie diesen in Granit gemeißelten römischen Adler sehen. Er wurde in der Nähe der Moulin du Peuch im Südosten Ussels entdeckt. Er stammt aus der Römerzeit und könnte ein heute verschollenes Grabdenkmal geziert haben. Obwohl er ohne Kopf gefunden wurde, wurde 1804 ein neuer Kopf von einem Bildhauer namens Pic hinzugefügt und zu Ehren der Krönung von Napoleon Bonaparte aufgestellt. Der Adler ist ein weibliches Substantiv, wenn er als Symbol für das römische und das napoleonische Imperium verwendet wird.
