Der Grazer Dom ist dem Heiligen Giles geweiht. Er ist der Sitz des Bischofs der Diözese Steiermark. Die Kirche wurde 1438-1462 von Friederick III. im gotischen Stil erbaut. Im späten 17. und frühen 18. Jahrhundert wurde sie im Barockstil umgestaltet.
Das Äußere des Doms sieht heute sehr nüchtern aus. In der Gotik waren die Fassaden jedoch mit Malereien bedeckt. Ein Fresko ist erhalten geblieben - das so genannte Gottesplagenbild. Es bezieht sich auf ein Jahr des Schreckens, das Graz im Jahr 1480 erlebte.
Das Innere der Kathedrale verbindet auf wunderbare Weise gotische Architektur mit barocker Ausstattung. Die Fresken in der Kirche stammen aus der Zeit Kaiser Friedrichs III. Darunter ein Fragment, das den heiligen Christophorus zeigt, der deutlich als Friedrich mit der steirischen Herzogskrone erkennbar ist.
Zu den wertvollsten Objekten des Doms zählen die beiden Reliquienschreine links und rechts des Choreingangs. Ursprünglich gehörten die Truhen Paola Gonzaga. Sie heiratete 1477 Leonhard von Görz und brachte ihre Brauttruhen aus ihrer Heimat Mantua mit auf Leonhards Schloss Bruck bei Lienz in Osttirol.
