Une étape incontournable pour ceux qui veulent profiter d'une vue imprenable est le Castel Romano, situé près de Pieve di Bono. Construite au XIIe siècle, elle se distingue par sa majestueuse tour rectangulaire qui domine toute la Valle del Chiese. Les murs de cette ruine - ce qu'elle est devenue après des siècles d'abandon et plusieurs coups de canon qui l'ont atteinte pendant la Première Guerre mondiale - cachent d'anciennes légendes qui racontent une histoire sanglante.Mentionnée pour la première fois en 1253, elle a appartenu aux seigneurs d'Appiano et d'Arco jusqu'à ce que, au XIVe siècle, elle fasse partie des possessions de la famille Lodron, déjà propriétaire des châteaux de Santa Barbara a Lodrone di Storo et de San Giovanni a Bondone.
Le manoir a probablement pris forme à partir du XIIe siècle à partir d'une grande tour quadrangulaire incorporée par la suite à une forteresse entourée d'un ou deux tours de murs et construite avec de grandes pierres de taille en granit. Autour de la forteresse, le noyau du château, se trouvent les bâtiments Renaissance commandés par la famille Lodron et habités jusqu'au XVIIIe siècle.
