A Fonte, situado nos xardíns do Palacio Real de Caserta,retrata Ceres deusa da fertilidade dos campos, rodeado por ninfas,cupidos , par de tritóns e dous golfiños xogar o whelk. A deusa soporta o medallón de Trinacria e nas laterais están representados, na forma do masculino divindades, os dous Siciliano ríos a Anapo (antiga Alfeu) e o Arethusa, a ninfa de Diana converter nunha fonte para escapar do amor de Alfeu , que á súa vez traxectoria nun río para chegar ao amado. Orixinalmente Ceres tiña a cabeza adornada con espigas de trigo, mentres que o Nereids tiña nas súas mans a oídos de bronce, que foron eliminados durante a ocupación francesa. O espléndido composición escultórica, con unha harmoniosa de forma piramidal, é o traballo de Gaetano Salomone e foi feita de mármore de Carrara e travertine stone entre 1783 e 1785.
