Depuis l'entrée de la ville et ensuite en direction de Fertilia-Porto Conte. Le pont romain peut être atteint depuis l'étang de Calich.
Le pont, situé entre Fertilia et Alghero, a permis pendant des millénaires le franchissement de la confluence entre l'étang de Calich et la mer.
Le pont était une infrastructure de la voie romaine occidentale " a Tibula Sulcis " qui reliait les centres de Nure et Carbia et plus généralement les centres de Nurra à ceux de Bosano.
Il a subi une restauration radicale au cours du Moyen Âge, mais les fondations des piliers de l'époque romaine subsistent.
Il comptait à l'origine 24 arches, dont 10, soit la quasi-totalité de la moitié sud du pont, ont été détruites dans les années 1930 lors de la poldérisation de l'étang.
