Costruito nel 1858 e ultimato nel 1861 è costituito da una torre circolare che poggia su un edifico a due piani nei quali alloggiano i faristi con le rispettive famiglie. Situato sul promontorio, alto circa m 40, a nord del capo che domina la Costa Smeralda.
L’immobile è costituito da una torre cilindrica che si eleva da un edificio bianco a due piani ove sono ubicati gli alloggi dei faristi. La torre alta 18 m è sormontata da una lanterna poligonale a vetri piani, con ottica lenticolare per luce fissa variata da splendori di 30s in 30s, con portata di 17 M. che copre il settore marittimo da Punta Sardegna a Capo Figari, con sorgente luminosa a petrolio ad un lucignolo. Nel 1912 venne sostituita da un impianto ad incandescenza a vapori di petrolio.
Nel 1932 il vecchio impianto lenticolare venne sostituito con un ottica rotante di 750mm di diametro focale, la caratteristica della luce modificata a gruppi di 3 lampi bianchi, una portata luminosa di 31,5 M.e geografica 19,3 M.
Nel 1938 la sorgente luminosa a vapori di petrolio, venne sostituito ad incandescenza elettrica con lampada da 1500W/80V, alimentata da tre gruppi elettrogeni autonomi da 5Kw.
Oggi funziona con un’ottica rotante da mm 375 di distanza focale, essa emette un gruppo di 3 lampi bianchi ogni 15s, la sorgente luminosa è data da una lampada alogena da 1000W/110V con sorgente elettrica da rete.
