La estructura elíptica de 110 por 85 metros de diámetro podía albergar hasta 15.000 espectadores. Su construcción se remonta al siglo I de nuestra era. El Verlasce, junto con el "Parlascio" de Lucca, es el único en Italia que tiene estas características. Hoy en día, el Verlasce se presenta con superposiciones de edificios que a lo largo de los siglos han modificado la estructura original que albergaba a los gladiadores de la época. Durante años, la estructura fue utilizada por los granjeros para albergar animales.
Para visitarla, basta con llegar a Venafro y a unas decenas de metros del cruce que une las carreteras de Roma y Nápoles se encuentran los tres puntos de acceso.
