Se dice que los rostros desaparecidos de tres de las ocho monjas, representados en un fresco en el segundo piso de la torre, nunca fueron dibujados porque las tres mujeres escaparon del monasterio. Estas monjas, ahora convertidas en espíritus, siguen vagando por los valles de Torba, intentando volver al fresco para encontrar la paz. Sólo cuando lo consigan conoceremos por fin la fisonomía de esos tres rostros.
Otra leyenda habla de una tormenta que azotó el monasterio hacia 1340, arrancando un gran árbol, de cuyas raíces surgió la tumba de mármol del rey longobardo Galdano da Torba. Sobre la cabeza del antiguo gobernante brillaba una corona de oro adornada con tres gemas preciosas, en su mano izquierda aferraba el orbe de oro, y a su lado yacía la espada con la que Tristán, príncipe de Leannois, mató a Moroldo de Irlanda.
