Realizzato in stile rinascimentale, l’edificio ospita alle sue estremità due fontane, la prima raffigurante la statua di Teti (custode dell’acqua dolce), realizzata dallo scultore Giuseppe Pokorny, la seconda rappresentante Venere (custode dell’acqua di mare), scolpita dallo scultore Ugo Haedti.
Il palazzo è dotato di quattro ingressi, posti al centro di ciascuna facciata; al suo interno un grande scalone in pietra carsica conduce al primo piano, costituito da un ampio salone con soffitto dorato sul quale sono raffigurati i ritratti degli Imperatori Asburgici Francesco Giuseppe ed Elisabetta (Sissi).
La facciata dell’edificio che da sulla piazza ospita alle sue estremità due fontane, una con la statua di Teti (quella a sinistra guardando il palazzo), opera dello scultore Giuseppe Pokorny, l’altra con la statua di Venere, opera dello scultore Ugo Haedti, rispettivamente custodi mitologiche dell’acqua dolce e dell’acqua di mare. In origine infatti, dalla fontana di Teti fuoriusciva acqua dolce mentre dalla fontana di Venere, mediante un meccanismo di pompaggio, sgorgava acqua di mare.
