Naveden kao putovanje od 'Anda do Pacifika', Tren Crucero ide od 2850 m visine Quita do nizinske obale Guayaquila. Na putu pokriva najdramatičniji dio staze na kontinentu: Nariz del Diablo ili Đavolji nos.
Njegova slava proizlazi iz složenosti izgradnje željeznice preko Anda, koja je zahtijevala mnogo dramatičnih skretanja. Dovršen 1908., rezultat je inženjersko remek-djelo - a pogledi su jednako veličanstveni.
Od 2013. rutom upravlja vrhunski Tren Crucero, koji vozi četiri noći u oba smjera. Između kolonijalnih pročelja starog grada Quita iz 17. stoljeća i živahne metropole Guayaquila, proći ćete preko desetak vulkana, kao i riječnih klanaca, oblačne šume, plantaža voća i nacionalnog parka.
Također je moguće uhvatiti kraću turističku uslugu koja vodi u dionicu Devil's Nose iz uspavanog Alausija, grada na sredini puta. Ovo je također dobra polazna točka za šetnje starom stazom Inka (od Achupallasa) ili izlete do brojnih gromoglasnih slapova.
