Palazzo del Podestà
Palazzo del Podestà, o Palazzo del Broletto, è stato progettato nel 1227 per ospitare la massima carica cittadina. In seguito ha spesso mantenuto la propria funzione di centro amministrativo. Per un certo periodo è stato anche sede dell'amministrazione della giustizia, e anche carcere. Numeriosi incendi hanno costretto a rifacimenti e ristrutturazioni. Si possono notare due stili che individuano altrettanti momenti costruttivi: il primo semplice ma rozzo, il secondo umanistico-rinascimentale. Il lato che dà verso Piazza Broletto ospita una nicchia con la statua di Virgilio in Cattedra. Il lato destro della torre è occupato da una torre Civica che aveva la funzione di carcere. Alla base della Torre c'è il Portico dei Lattai.
