A estrutura de Richat também apelidada de "olho da África" é uma característica circular proeminente no Planalto Adrar do Saara, perto de Ouadane, no centro–oeste da Mauritânia.A estrutura de Richat é uma cúpula profundamente erodida, ligeiramente elíptica, com um diâmetro de 40 km (25 mi). A rocha sedimentar exposta nesta cúpula varia em idade desde o Proterozóico tardio no centro da cúpula até arenito Ordoviciano ao redor de suas bordas. As rochas sedimentares que compõem esta estrutura mergulham para fora a 10-20°. A erosão diferencial das camadas resistentes de quartzite criou cuestas circulares de alto relevo. Seu centro consiste de uma breccia siliciosa cobrindo uma área de pelo menos 30 quilômetros de diâmetro.
