A decoración das escaleiras coñecida como "mutilados" quere celebrar e recordar a figura de Alfonso Gatto, ecléctica poeta, escritor, pintor e crítico de arte de Salerno.
A idea foi realizado por Alfonso Gatto Fundación en colaboración co concello de Salerno e realizada por Roman artista visual Alicia Pasquini, en outubro de 2014.
O mural seguinte ramplas con específicos escenas en que retratos dos mozos figuras femininas e nenos dominar, seguido de arriba polo pensativo figura de Alfonso Gatto no acto de acender un cigarro.
O artístico realización ten afectado non só as paredes, pero tamén a escaleira que leva á Piazza principe Amedeo: en risers de ramplas son os versos de "Girotondo", "Un consiglio", "quen sabe" e "cada home era un neno", obras do poeta transcritos polo artista de Salerno Greenpino.
