Communal rose garden at Aventine... - Secret World

Via di Valle Murcia, 6, 00153 Roma, Italia

by Klaus Andersen

At the foot of the Aventine, in spring, the gates of one of Rome's most romantic gardens open. In May, 1,100 species of roses bloom in a triumph of colors and scents that make even more precious a place that is already magical by nature and location. From here, in fact, you can enjoy a splendid view of the Circus Maximus and the Palatine, forgetting the city traffic. Attention, however, the rose garden for obvious reasons of flowering is open only during some spring months.
