En el sótano de la tienda De Luca, en el número 5a de Via cistrna dell'olio, se puede visitar una de las cinco enormes cisternas utilizadas en el siglo XVIII para almacenar el aceite de oliva producido en el Reino de Nápoles (sólo con el permiso del propietario).
Construido con ladrillos refractarios, el aljibe, en contra de la creencia popular, se utilizaba para el aceite de cocina y no para el de alumbrado, ya que las lámparas de aceite no empezaron a aparecer en la ciudad hasta medio siglo después. Estos grandes depósitos se utilizaban para regular el mercado y especular con los precios. A partir de 1778, el Reino de Nápoles tuvo una bolsa de productos agrícolas muy activa.
