Arch of Wonders

According to legend fucostruited in a single night by the parents of a young man from Bari so that he could meet his fiancée, against the wishes of her family. Of course, this is just a suggestive popular legend. In reality the arch is named after the Maraviglia (or Marvel) family of Milanese origin, and was built to connect two medieval houses belonging to the same family. It was built in the early 1500s and is still one of the most striking corners of Bari Vecchia. To find it you have to look for Via Meraviglia among the narrow alleys of the old town.
