The history of Neptune Caves dates back to prehistoric times. Various traces, belonging to the Neolithic period, found within them suggest that some 2,000,000 years have passed since its formation. It’ s almost certain that early humans knew them and used them, according to their own needs.
The Neptune Caves are not only the most famous but also the largest. They stretch for about 4 kilometers, but for security reasons tourists can only access a part of them.
