Dhanuskodi lies in the southern tip of the പുഴീയംകൂടി. The word Dhanushkodi literally means "tip of the bow". ഈ ഗംഭീരമായ place is bordered by bay of Bengal കടൽ ഒരു വശത്ത് ഇന്ത്യൻ മഹാസമുദ്രം on the other, at the very tip of Dhanushkodi one can view the merging point of the seas ഇന്ത്യൻ മഹാസമുദ്രം (ഒരു കടൽ with high tides) and bay of Bengal (the low tide കടൽ), ഈ പോയിന്റ് is named as "Arichal munai". മുമ്പ് 1964 കൊടുങ്കാറ്റ് Dhanushkodi ഒരു തിങ്ങിക്കൂടിയ and busy city.
