Founded in Johannesburg in 1913, Everard Read is the oldest commercial gallery in the country. Having been around for so long, it's garnered a stellar reputation for exhibiting emerging and established artists, both local and international.
New exhibitions run every five weeks, so there's always new talent to see. If you're visiting the V&A Waterfront, the Everard Read is a great additional activity. While it may not be as iconic as, say, the Zeitz, it certainly carries its weight as one of the country's finest contemporary art galleries.
