Fairy Lake and Crocette

To the Lake of the Fairies, at the beginning of the Quarazza Valley, you can reach it from Isella (hamlet below Staffa) following the dirt road and the "Schlittuweg" (Path of the Sledges) that leads to the beautiful hillock of Motta. From this hamlet it is possible to reach in short time the artificial basin of the Fairy Lake, 1309 mt. It is also possible to go up to the Lago delle Fare from Borca - Spiss along a steep path with steps. From the dam, continuing along the easy road among larch and fir trees, you reach the locality "Crocette", better known as "Città Morta" (Dead City), with the testimonies of the ancient working of gold (1460 m). The place is in fact an ancient settlement of miners who worked in the nearby mines.
