Fish soup

Fiskesuppe is a traditional Norwegian fish soup made with a base of fish broth and vegetables, enriched with potatoes, carrots and onions, and usually enriched with chopped fish or mussels. The soup may also contain other ingredients such as cream, sour cream, or spices such as dill or thyme. In Norway, fiskesuppe is often served as a main meal, accompanied by rye bread or flatbread. There are many regional variations of fiskesuppe in Norway, with some recipes including salmon, cod or other varieties of fish.
