The Historical Museum of the Palatinate is a museum in the city of Speyer in the Palatinate region of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It is situated across the square from the Speyer Cathedral.
Opened in 1910, located in a monumental building designed by Gabriel von Seidel, it currently has about 1 million exhibits in the collection, including priceless works of sacred art from the treasury of the local cathedral. One of the most popular exhibits is a clay bottle with the world's oldest wine, dated to the 4th century AD
