The Clementine Fountains are a group of fountains and are one of the main points of interest in the cityà and represent a significant example of 16th-century hydraulic architecture. The fountains are named after Pope Clement VIII, who orderedò their construction in 1596 to provide an adequate water supply to the cityà. The project was entrusted to architect Domenico Fontana, who was also famous for his work at the Vatican. The Clementine fountains are located in Fountain Square, in the historic center of Genzano.
