The Lovers' Trail in Ascea Marina is one of Cilento's most beloved hiking trails. A path almost exclusively made of steps (more than steps), it gives breathtaking views of the Gulf of Velia and Punta del Telegrafo, allowing even Cape Palinuro to be glimpsed. The Trail is anticipated by 12 footbridges and 8 wooden platforms that serve to preserve the dunes and flora of Ascea Marina's Cliff Beach.
The Trail can be tackled by both trekkers and tourists who just want to enjoy the enchanting view of the sea. The Trail starts near the Cliffs of Marina di Ascea, at Punta del Telegrafo. The Lovers' Trail was inaugurated in 2017. The entrance to the trail is visible thanks to a prominent sign.
The Lovers' Path is uniquely beautiful and immerses itself in the Mediterranean scrubland characteristic of the Cilento region, between rises and falls that are also quite challenging, but when you reach the top, however, you will be enraptured by a postcard-perfect view of the sea. The final destination of the Lovers' Trail is the Saracen tower, known as the Telegraph Tower. The Telegraph Tower was a sighting and defense system on the coast to protect against pirate raids.
Once you reach the end of the trail, you have to walk backwards in order to return to the beach of Ascea Marina again.
