Warm colors, clear lines, and precious materials characterize the new Terme Merano complex, which opened in 2005. Located in the center of the spa town, they offer an indoor area of 7,650 sq. m. of spa facilities, with 15 pools and 8 saunas and steam baths, including the organic South Tyrolean hay sauna. The thermal water contains radon and is well known for its therapeutic qualities. The steam from the thermal water has a calming effect on the mucous membrane, relaxing it and clearing the airways - ideal especially for respiratory diseases. By the way: many years ago, Rainer Maria Rilke, Franz Kafka and Elisabeth of Bavaria visited the old Merano Thermal Baths.
In summer, the Terme Merano outdoor area opens its doors with 10 pools in the Terme Merano Park, an oasis of over 5 hectares.
