The pastel colours of the tiles and the lime stones create a living architectural whole.Moustiers-Sainte-Marie is part of the Parc Naturel Régional du Verdon, (Verdon natural regional park) which straddles the departments of the Var and Alpes de Haute Provence and encompasses 46 towns and villages and seven major landscape types. The park’s diverse ecosystem has a very rich and varied natural heritage including vultures, bats, mountain goats, roe bucks and its own endemic flora. The headquarters of the Verdon natural regional park is located just outside the village of Moustiers.
