El amplio Museo Nacional de Groenlandia, ubicado en edificios coloniales junto al antiguo puerto, cuenta con exposiciones muy bien presentadas con piezas que se remontan a 4.500 años. El museo ofrece galerías repletas de artefactos antiguos desenterrados en excavaciones arqueológicas, artesanía groenlandesa y obras de arte locales.
No se pierda la escultura de bronce que representa el cuento groenlandés de la Madre del Mar, la sala de geología que muestra las rocas más antiguas del mundo y la sala de momias con tres mujeres momificadas del siglo XV y un bebé desenterrados en el yacimiento arqueológico de Qilakitsoq.
Otras exposiciones muestran la cultura inuit y ofrecen una historia cronológica de la inmigración y el asentamiento en la isla.
