Palace with piercing

The Piercing Palace, a contemporary work from 1991 known as Stolen Kisses, is a work created by Corrado Levi, in collaboration with Cliostraat, a group of artists and architects. It is a work that not all Turin residents are familiar with but is certainly worthy of inclusion in a tour of the most unusual Turin:On a historic building from the 18th century, in the middle of the Roman Quadrilateral, the Piercing Palace is a striking and in fact quite unusual work. On either side of the piercing are drops of red and blue blood, at either corner. The work, which is actually titled "Urban Kisses," was created as a temporary installation as part of an impromptu initiative. However, it still remains in place today.The work portrays the contrasting and harmoniously coexisting souls of the Savoy city, represented precisely by piericing, used as a symbol of modernity and rebellion. Probably the two colors represent nobility and poverty.
