Recanati

Recanati is one of the most visited tourist destinations in the Marche region. Giacomo Leopardi, one of the greatest Italian poets, was born here. Visiting Recanati also means visiting the places where his poems are set and from which they drew inspiration. In Recanati, moreover, it is possible to admire one of the most extraordinary paintings of the entire Renaissance, the Annunciation by Lorenzo Lotto. It was also the birthplace of Beniamino Gigli, the famous opera singer to whom the museum of the same name located in the Sala dei Trenta of the Persiani Theater is dedicated.
