Paraíso de las compras, lugar de encuentro y ambiente medieval en uno, los soportales de Merano son el corazón de la ciudad. Las arcadas, de 400 metros de longitud, se dividen en las de montaña y las de agua (las del valle). Cruzando el Puente de Correos, con sus postes decorados con mosaicos y su balaustrada dorada, se llega por un camino recto a la histórica Puerta de Bolzano, del siglo XIV. Desde aquí, tras una breve subida, comienzan las Arcadas de Merano. Ahora la ruta desciende suavemente entre los arcos de los edificios históricos hasta la Plaza del Trigo, el comienzo opuesto de esta magnífica calle comercial.
