If you are visiting the Botanical Gardens, be sure to make a brief stop at the magnificent Hindu temple called Sankhagiri Maha Viharaya. I particularly enjoyed this temple because it was unlike any other Hindu temple I had seen before.The temple was a peach and gold color, and it was situated with mountains behind it. It is only a short stop along the way, but it definitely deserves a photo shoot or two.Also, there were a lot of monkeys hanging around the temple when we were there. I love monkeys, so I enjoyed watching them for a while.So if you have the opportunity, don't miss this fascinating Hindu temple on your way to the Botanical Gardens. It will be a unique experience and you can admire its beauty, unusual color scheme and maybe enjoy the company of the cheerful little monkeys that inhabit it.
