About Secret World Review 2026: Tested in Bangkok, Does It Work?

Secret World Review 2026: Tested in Bangkok, Does It Work? - Bangkok | Secret World Trip Planner

Bangkok immediately puts you in difficulty: three million tourists a year, neighborhoods that change character every five hundred meters, and a transport system that mixes BTS Skytrain, MRT subway, khlong boat, and tuk-tuk without an apparent logic for first-time visitors. When I opened Secret World at Suvarnabhumi Airport, with my flight still delayed by forty minutes, I wasn't looking for a miraculous app. I was looking for something that would simply tell me where to start.

Secret World Review 2026: Tested in Bangkok, Does It Work? - Bangkok | Secret World Trip Planner

I used Secret World for five days in Bangkok in February 2026, testing the AI trip planner on real itineraries, with a real budget and real movements. This is a Secret World review 2026 written by someone who has walked those kilometers, not by someone who has read a press release.

How Secret World AI Really Works: My First Request

Secret World Review 2026: Tested in Bangkok, Does It Work? - Bangkok | Secret World Trip Planner

The first thing I asked the AI was straightforward: "I want to visit Wat Pho, the Grand Palace, and Wat Arun in one day, starting from Silom at 8:00 AM. Is it realistic?". The answer surprised me with its concreteness. The AI confirmed that it is feasible, but specified that the Grand Palace alone requires at least two and a half hours, that Wat Pho (entrance 200 baht) is a five-minute walk away, and that for Wat Arun it is advisable to take the ferry from Tha Tien Pier for 5 baht, avoiding the heat at 1:00 PM with a lunch break in the Pak Khlong Talat area. No vague answers: schedules, prices, logical sequence of movements.

I then asked for an itinerary for Chatuchak Weekend Market, specifying that I would only have three hours. The AI suggested focusing on sections 2-4 for local crafts, indicated the entrance from BTS Mo Chit station to avoid the crowd at the main entrance, and estimated an average spending of 800-1,500 baht for quality souvenirs. This level of detail, in a complex city like Bangkok, is rare among competitors.

For concretes: what Secret World does better than others

The most evident strength is the geographical contextualization. When I asked for advice on Khao San Road, the AI did not just describe it as a "backpacker area": it specified that it is about 1.5 km from the Grand Palace, that traffic makes it difficult to reach by tuk-tuk after 6:00 PM, and suggested alternatives like Phra Athit Road for a more authentic atmosphere with local-priced venues. I checked everything on the ground: it was accurate.

Compared to Google Trips (discontinued) and TripAdvisor AI, Secret World manages follow-up questions better. It does not start from scratch every time: it remembers the context of the conversation. When I said "change the restaurant for the second day because I am vegetarian," it only updated that entry while keeping everything else. On Bangkok, where street food is ubiquitous but not always vegetarian, this made a concrete difference: it directed me to Jay restaurants (Thai vegan cuisine) in the Banglamphu neighborhood with prices between 60 and 120 baht per dish.

Honest drawbacks: the limits I found

Not everything works perfectly. The first problem I encountered was asking for information about taxi prices from the Sukhumvit area to Don Mueang Airport: the AI provided an estimate of 250-350 baht, but it did not spontaneously mention the highway toll of 70-90 baht that is almost always added. I only discovered it because I asked explicitly. A less experienced user would have been surprised.

The second limitation concerns real-time updates. During my visit, Wat Saket (the Temple of the Golden Mount, entrance 100 baht) had a religious event that limited access for tourists in the afternoon. Secret World did not know this. It is an understandable limitation for any AI that does not integrate with live sources, but it is worth knowing: for temporary events and sudden closures, always check official websites or the Facebook groups of the expat community in Bangkok.

The final vote: 9/10, and I'll explain why it's not 10

I gave Secret World a 9/10 because in five days in Bangkok it eliminated at least four hours of daily planning that I would have otherwise spent on forums and separate maps. The itinerary it built for the Thonglor and Ekkamai neighborhoods — two BTS stops, quality street food, no tourist attractions in the classic sense — was simply better than what I would have built myself with the same information available online. The missing point is for those small informational gaps on additional costs and real-time events: with a live integration, it would be an almost perfect tool.

If you are planning a trip to Bangkok and want to avoid wasting precious time among dozens of open tabs, try Secret World for free and start with a specific question about your itinerary. Don't ask "what to see in Bangkok": ask "I have three days, I'm staying in Silom, I want to avoid the most crowded attractions in the morning, what do you suggest?". The difference in the quality of the response will convince you on its own.
