Its curved design evokes the waves of the desert dunes. The bridge's features include - in addition to its extraordinary architecture - a dynamic lighting design, based on muted colors found on the bridge, symbolizing the connection between the nature of the bridge and the energy that the capital, Abu Dhabi, exudes.The construction reaches a height of about 60 meters and the road surface emerges from the ground running through the spine of the structure for eight lanes, four in each direction. The architecture is a sinusoidal wave that starts from a beach, plunges twice into the sea and ends on an island". In order to lay the foundations it was necessary to isolate the arm of the sea concerned and install a parallel iron bridge with the double function of scaffolding and support for the concrete foundations. The bridge is the third road connecting the mainland with Abu Dhabi Island and the new main entrance to the Maqtah Canal. The bridge was designed by architect Zaha Hadid
