In the Pampas region of Argentina, south of Cordoba, lies an unusual natural monument that takes the form of a guitar. Known as the Forest of the Guitar, this creation is visible only from above and stretches more than half a mile in length, consisting of more than 7,000 cypress and eucalyptus trees. The creator of this extraordinary work of art is Pedro Martin Ureta, a 74-year-old Argentine farmer, who with the help of his 4 children managed to transform this desolate area into something unique, driven by a desire to pay tribute to the passing of his beloved wife. Graciela Yraizoz died in 1977, at only 25 years old, leaving her husband and children in utter despair. Her dream had always been to live with her husband and their children on a farm in the shape of a guitar, because it was the instrument she loved most.It took Pedro five years to create this forest, planting and cultivating the trees so that, when viewed from above, they would take the shape of a guitar with a star in the center. He used cypress trees to delineate the contours, while he chose purple eucalyptus trees for the strings. Today, this little masterpiece is of precise, well-composed proportions and continues to be alive and thriving thanks to Pedro's daily care. It has become a temple of love that can still be prominently admired from planes and even satellites. It is a place that combines a man's passion for his beloved and his dedication to beautifying the surrounding nature. The Guitar Forest has become a symbol of eternal love and a unique attraction for visitors to view it from a unique and fascinating perspective.
