he historic center of the main town is surrounded by medieval walls and towers. At the small harbor stand the 14th-century Palazzo del Consiglio della Gardesana, now a famous hotel, and the Castello degli Scaligeri, home to the Museo Etnografico, with Italy's first exhibition of freshwater fish, and the limonaia, a lemon garden dating from 1760.
Other places of interest include the Baroque church of Saints Peter and Paul with its incredible 18th-century organ and the small church of the Holy Trinity.
Of interest is the clock tower in the vicinity of the Gardesana road, known in the past as the Torre del Comun, having been in the Middle Ages the meeting place of the Vicina, a gathering of heads of families who negotiated bartering matters.
In the village of Pai, traces of the fortress that was razed to the ground by Barbarossa can still be seen. Near Pai, on the other hand, you can visit the La Tanella Caves, in which you can admire various stalactites and stalagmites formed over the centuries.
The hamlet of Albisano is located above Torri del Benaco and offers a splendid view of Lake Garda. Tourism plays a main role in the economy, but without detracting importance from the cultivation of vineyards and olive groves.
