Is it possible to rate the most excellent beaches on the planet? Of course not, because tastes vary depending on facilities, accessibility, swimming and water sports alternatives, safety, feeling of place, leisure, and scenery.

Despite this, someone who is well-traveled and has walked on the sand of several beaches throughout the world. Regrettably, these beaches are no longer a secret so you will have to experience their breathtaking beauty with a large number of other tourists.

10 Ultimate Beaches to Quench Your Wanderlust

1. SEYCHELLES ANSE SOURCE D’ARGENT

The brilliant white sands of Anse Source d’Argent, one of the world’s most photographed beaches, stretch across La Digue, one of the 115 islands that make up this idyllic archipelago in the Indian Ocean. The beach sparkles against a backdrop of massive granite rocks that have been weathered by time. The turquoise water is excellent for swimming since an offshore barrier protects it from ocean waves. Be on the lookout for endangered animals and giant tortoises.

2. HAWAII’S POLIHALE BEACH

Polihale is, without a doubt, the most stunningly magnificent beach in the Hawaiian archipelago. This seemingly desolate 11-kilometer stretch of Kauai, one of the world’s most beautiful islands, is many miles from the nearest town and exudes a sense of magic and mystique that is still present in Hawaii today. The beach is only accessible through a poorly defined mud sugarcane road. Therefore four-wheel driving is recommended.

3. CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA CAMPS BAY

Not least due to the famous splendid beaches on its doorstep, Cape Town is at the top of my list of the world’s most beautiful cities. Camps Bay is not only the most popular beach in Cape Town, but it’s also the sole urban beach in the top ten. Camps Bay has brilliant white sand against the spectacular Twelve Apostles Mountain Range and Table Mountain.

The water is a little chilly owing to Atlantic Ocean currents, but that won’t detract from the fantastic surrounding landscape and world-famous sunsets.

Camps Bay is only one of several beautiful beaches located within a 20-minute drive of Cape Town. The Clifton Beaches are very popular, although they can only be reached by descending a steep flight of steps from the road.

4. MAYA BAY, THAILAND

On Thailand’s Koh Phi Phi, Maya Bay is a wonderfully gorgeous, secluded bay. It’s easy to understand why filmmaker Danny Boyle picked this beach for the cult classic The Beach, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, with a ring of white sand bordered by mangroves and towering limestone cliffs draped in lush greenery.

5. VANCOUVER ISLAND, CANADA’S LONG BEACH

It’s not only tropical landscapes that may leave you awestruck with their awe-inspiring beauty. Long Beach, Canada’s longest sandy beach, is the most outstanding example, with magnificent beauty and unparalleled marine wilderness. Each spring and summer, 20,000 grey whales travel along the coast. Between Tofino and Ucluelet, the National Park Reserve’s 10 miles (16 kilometers) of unspoiled beaches are surrounded by beautiful woods and pounded by the cold, pounding surf. Each spring and summer, 20,000 grey whales travel along the coast.

6. FERNANDO DE NORONHO, BRAZIL, BAIA DO SANCHO

Baía Do Sancho is located on Fernando de Noronha, an active volcanic archipelago of 21 islands in the Atlantic Ocean, roughly 220 miles (350 kilometers) off the coast of northeastern Brazil. The cliffs surrounding the sparkling green lake and smooth white dunes are covered with vegetation and stand at 250 feet (75 meters). Only a boat or a dirt track through an aperture in a rock wall with a few dozen uneven, slick-sandy steps leads to the beach. The beach is ideal for ray spotting and snorkeling.

7. QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA’S WHITEHAVEN BEACH

The Whitsunday Islands National Park protects Whitehaven Beach, located in the center of the Great Barrier Reef. Swirls of turquoise, blue, and green waves lap across Australia’s most famous beach, a span of 4.4 miles (7 kilometers).

The sand is 98 percent pure white silica, giving it a bright, nearly luminous appearance. What a view to look at! You may get to Whitehaven Beach by helicopter or aircraft, or you can take one of the many boat trips available in the vicinity.

8. GRACE BAY, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

The Turks are a group of islands in the Caribbean, with Providenciales serving as the principal tourist destination. Grace Bay, a 19-kilometer (12-mile) stretch of sugary sand and clear water flanked by a coral reef complex with excellent snorkeling and diving, is located on the island’s northern side.

9. ZAKYNTHOS, GREECE’S NAVAGIO BEACH

Navagio beach is a tiny but wonderfully beautiful sandy cove on the Greek island of Zakynthos. It’s known as the Shipwreck Beach because it’s home to the wreck of the Panagiotis, which is said to have been a smuggler’s ship. Thousands of visitors visit the region each year because of its towering limestone cliffs, white sand beaches, and beautiful blue ocean. The only way to get to the beach is by boat, but you can view it from above if you perch on the higher end of the surrounding cliffs.

10. TULUM, MAYA RIVIERA, MEXICO

Its closeness distinguishes Tulum from some of Mexico’s most beautiful Mayan ruins: it is here that one of the world’s finest cultural attractions collides with one of the world’s best beaches. Tulum’s ruins are an old walled city perched on a cliff overlooking a beautiful beach. The region is not quite secluded, with thousands of visitors arriving every day but the vast expanse of white sand and beautiful blue Caribbean seas more than compensate for it.

The world is home to an incredible diversity of magnificent beaches, each more glorious than the last, whether gifted with blindingly dazzling white sands or nestled in the most picturesque location imaginable. Some may be located amid world-famous cities, while others are hidden away on tropical islands or deep within national parks.

These stunning beaches, whether framed by magnificent rock formations, rocky cliffs, or softly swaying palm palms, must be seen to be appreciated.
