Village of Morrovalle

Morrovalle, in the province of Macerata, stands on one of the rolling hills that accompany the course of the Chienti River, a few kilometers away from both the Adriatic Sea and the Sibillini Mountains. In the historic center, which arose around the year 1000, the medieval architecture of the Palazzo del Podestà, Palazzo Lazzarini and the Civic Tower can be admired, and the unique Museo Internazionale del Presepe, which houses about 800 nativity scenes from all over the world, and the Museo civico-Pinacoteca, recently enriched by an archaeological section, with artifacts dating from the period between the 7th and 6th centuries B.C., are worth a visit. Near the village is the Selva di San Francesco, a natural area with a nature trail with special signage indicating the main varieties of plants and animal species that inhabit the ancient city forest.
