In the Beune Valley, just off Les Eyzies-de-Tayac, the Roc de Cazelle caves are nestled within the Le Goulet Valley, where the famous Vénus de Sireuil statue was excavated. In this striking prehistoric park, come discover scenes of the lives of our distant ancestors in the very place where they actually lived. Follow the steep cliffs of Cazelle, dotted with grottos, refuges, underground cavities and habitations that contained deposits of countless tools and weapons fashioned by prehistoric man. A number of scenes recreate the lives of our ancestors, bringing you chronologically from Prehistory to the Middle Ages, when the site was dug out and built up into an authentic fortified castle. You'll also discover the monolithic home of the first inhabitants of Cazelle, directly hewn into the rock and occupied up until the 1960s.
