The Museo Subacuático del Callao focuses on the collection and display of underwater archaeological artifacts; the Museo de Sitio Naval Submarino Abtao is dedicated to the history of the Peruvian Navy and particularly its underwater component.The Museo de Sitio Naval Submarino Abtao is also located in Callao, near the port, and is housed in a Peruvian Navy submarine. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the interior of the submarine and see how crew members lived and worked on board.The museum also offers a wide range of exhibits and educational activities on the history of the Peruvian Navy, including its participation in historical conflicts such as the Pacific War and World War II.
